The EHHS girls basketball team came together for the annual awards night last week. They celebrated the hard work, improvement, dedication, and memories made throughout the season. Players, coaches, and players’ families came together for a special night that brought excitement, recognition, and excitement for future plans.
Parents joined the team to celebrate the accomplishments of each player as coaches gave out speeches and awards for their performances and contributions during the season. The event gave teammates one last opportunity to spend time together before preparing for next year’s season and the 3 seniors leaving.
Bella Inorio said she enjoyed having everyone together again. “It was nice having the team all come together like old times and celebrate together,” she said. Jayla Santiago also shares similar feelings and thoughts. “Seeing all of the team will make me miss old times, but it made me look forward to next season” She also said.
Assistant Coach Miranda also reflected on the evening and looked ahead to what is next for the program. “I’m looking forward to next season and making states, and I will miss the seniors a lot and their impact on the team,” Coach Miranda said.
The awards night served as a reminder of the friendships and teamwork built throughout the season while giving the team motivation and more to look forward to for the future. As the seniors move on and returning players begin preparing for another year, the East Haven girls basketball team hopes to build on this season’s success and make a strong push to achieve more goals and for the state tournament.
