Vaping is the act of inhaling and exhaling the vapor produced by an electronic cigarette or other vaping devices. These devices heat a liquid, often called liquid or vape juice, which contains nicotine, flavorings, and sometimes other chemicals and very bad substances. The heated liquid turns into a vapor that is then inhaled by the person and goes through the body.
How does this affect a person mentally? One of the primary concerns with vaping is nicotine addiction. Many of the liquids contain nicotine, a highly addictive substance. Regular use can lead to dependence, causing cravings and withdrawal symptoms when nicotine levels drop. This addiction can have negative effects on the brain, especially in teenagers, impacting memory, learning, and attention. It can also stop you from achieving your dreams and make it more difficult to do the things that make you happy.
When someone vapes, the nicotine reaches the brain and releases dopamine, which creates a pleasurable feeling for the person, and it forms a hard addiction for them. This makes them want to vape again. Over time, the brain becomes tolerant to nicotine, meaning the person needs more to feel the same effects, leading to increased use and wanting more and more.
