Honey Books: Happily Never After by Lynn Painter

Honey+Books%3A+Happily+Never+After+by+Lynn+Painter

My rating: ★★★ 3/5 Stars

Genre: Contemporary romance, romantic comedy, humorous fiction, young Adult.

I liked this book it was a very quick read for me. However, I feel like it could’ve been better. The story felt like it should’ve moved slower than it did and I feel like the story never really finds a groove. I love Lynn Painter as an author and I’d been looking forward to this book for a while; I was so excited for a new read.

Lynn Painter wrote this book about two “objectors” who save brides and grooms from a lifetime of misery and they yell “I object” when it is asked to. While I like this book I feel like it was just a draft and published just because. I really feel like it could’ve been better especially since the plot had great potential.

However, this book did make me smile and root for the main couple so i’m happy for that. One of my favourite parts of the book was when, spoiler, the two main characters get married at the end And when they get married and the priest asks “if anyone here knows of a reason (these two should not get married} -” and their two friends yell “I do!” because they know that Max and Sophie (the main couple) would object to weddings as a side hustle when asked. So I thought that was cute of their friends and it admittedly made me laugh.
