Cameron LaCroix is the Senior Assistant Captain for the East Haven Boys Co-op Hockey team. Cameron has been playing hockey for 13 years, since he was 4. After high school, he does not want to continue playing hockey; instead, he wants to go to college for business. He plays defense; helping the goalie by trying to prevent the opposing

team from scoring, getting the puck out of the defensive zone, keeping the puck in the offensive zone, and helping his team gain possession of the puck to transition to offense. Cameron expressed how watching hockey as a kid started his love and passion for the game.
His job as assistant captain is to help his teammates both on and off the ice, being vocal on the ice and in the locker room, and getting everyone in the right mindset. His favorite part about being the Assistant Captain is “knowing that the coaching staff and my teammates trust me.”
Sal Plano says, “Cameron is a great defensive partner.”
Cameron’s goals for his last year playing high school hockey are to potentially win more games, create a closer bond with his teammates, and win the state championships. Cameron’s favorite thing about the team is the bonds that are created, “Especially with the kids from other schools, it’s like one big family.”
Cameron’s favorite team to play is Branford because he claims he has never lost against them during his time on the team, along with the intensity and adrenaline due to Branford being our rivals. So far this season, Cameron has contributed 4 points to the team.
His favorite things about hockey are “the friendships and relationships that come from hockey, meeting new people, and getting to know them.”
