Mrs. Pamela Olejarczyk has been a building sub here at EHHS for the last two years. She has formed bonds with numerous students and taught multiple classes, but how does she impact our school community as a whole?
Mrs. Olejarczyk grew up in Milford and practiced law for many years. She then left the field around 2009 because she was burnt out and had kids. She really wanted to be a good mom and wanted more time with them. She then moved to Branford and started subbing and teaching because she left her last career without a plan, but she ended up loving it! She became a paraprofessional at Walsh Intermediate School in Branford, then transitioned to homeschool teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic. Just about 2 years ago she came to East Haven High School and is currently here where she plans to stay.
Mrs. O has two kids who are now both college graduates and recently moved out. She does not have much free time since she has 3 jobs, but when she does she likes to cook, bake, read, spend time with family, spend time outdoors, and almost anything because she’s always willing to have fun, even country line dancing once a week!
Since she has been at EHHS, she has made many memories and enjoys her time here. “The students and faculty are my favorite part. I think everybody here is great,” Mrs. O states. She also says, “I never expected to be able to be in positions where I could connect with students like I do and it’s the very first thing I did.”
Currently, Mrs. O is a long term substitute in math and previously was a long term substitute in history last year after finally getting certified in history. “She’s very caring and thoughtful,” Vincenza Brown says about Mrs. O. She loved filling in and that confirmed that she wanted to do this as her final career. She is currently taking classes to get a masters degree in teaching to hopefully stay here full time as a history teacher. Her goal is to finish her working time as a teacher at East Haven High School.
