How would you nominate the shock value of something? What inside a piece of work would make you freaked out? Well a group of students from Video and Photography teacher, Ms. Jessica Spinelli’s Video 1 class created an awards show for that. This was made as their mic project, in which students make a short film utilizing different kinds of mics in order to learn how to use them effectively. The group of students, including senior Willow Torres, freshmen Isabella Velez, Gabriella Dion, and Emma Russo, and sophomore Madison McKeon created “The SLAY Oscars.” The idea was to create horror scenes that can cleverly utilize each type of microphone.
A big highlight of the video was a small segment, in the video submitted by Isabella, where she is on the phone with someone and in the window of the door behind her, you can see the person she’s on the phone with. The girls are cleverly placed, and the scene is acted and shot really well too.
In the video 1 class each group needs to able to combine their skills and make a final product that all members are proud of. It’s either Teamwork or No Work!
