Mr. John Devany will be leaving EHHS at the end of October 2024. He shared that he had a business opportunity closer to home. He will continue teaching at Sheehan High School in Wallingford. He says he made the decision, but it was not an easy one to come to.
Mr. Devany began teaching at EHHS in February of 2021. He currently teaches 2 marketing classes, 2 personal finance classes, and a small business management class. “It has always been a lifelong dream” Mr Devany says about teaching. He also wants to continue coaching as he currently coaches youth baseball and basketball.
Mr Devany says his favorite part about teaching is watching the students grow and develop. His favorite memories of EHHS are the growth and development of the club he is the advisor for FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and the opportunity to coordinate and oversee the summer school program.
“It breaks my heart to be leaving but you will see me at future EHHS events,” Devany says.
EHHS will certainly miss Mr. Devany’s great personality and his fist bumps in the hallway. We wish him the best of luck. He leaves EHHS with one final thought from Dr. Seuss
