Sophomore Chase Bussert has dedicated 11 years to baseball and currently plays catcher for the EHHS Boys Baseball Team. He was introduced to the sport at age four by his mom. Chase’s passion for baseball has only grown since then. He aims to play at the Division II level in college.
Chase loves the thrill of hitting, especially when he connects perfectly with the ball to hit a barrel, which is when the ‘sweet spot’ of the bat makes contact with the baseball. He finds that bouncing back from setbacks is the biggest challenge in baseball, whether it is a bad play or a mental challenge. His motivation comes from striving to give his best effort and avoiding the feeling of failure. One of Chase’s favorite memories is when the team celebrated their first win of the season, his freshman year, with a trip to Buffalo Wild Wings.

Known for his strong arm, Chase brings solid defense to the team. He watches TikTok, naps on the bus, and focuses on stretching his hamstrings, shoulders, and back to prepare for games. His admiration for Francisco Lindor, a New York Mets player, inspires him to become an excellent baseball player.
The EHHS Boys Baseball team has a current season record of 4 wins and 11 losses.
