On December 6, 2024, Sabrina Carpenter released a Netflix special titled A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter which features the first the first four songs on this EP and collaborations with a multitude of collaborations with other artists.

Although already one of her songs, this remix of it with the holiday twist is such a funny thing to do. The lyricism is such a hilarious thing, with pun after pun throughout. I think starting the EP with a previous hit from her last album, emails i can’t send, just renewed was so smart and a really good way to continue the success of the song in a new way.

During my first listen, I honestly did not care for this song at all. (Sorry, Bella Mott!!!) I felt that it was just boring and a throwaway song, but when I seriously sat down and listened to this again, OH MY GOSH, this song is also so hilarious lyrically, and the music is absolutely a vibe. The vocals on this song, the instrumentals, and the lyricism all tie together this song in a beautiful, glittery bow. Although playing off of explicit topics, like “A Nonsense Christmas,” the song takes it in such a humorous way and makes the song really enjoyable.

This song is really a good vibe! It gives the same vibes as sitting around a fire, drinking hot chocolate, and just relaxing, but I think that’s really all it has for it. For me personally, I don’t find this song to have a great amount of replay value, but that’s just solely based on the fact I enjoyed some of the more upbeat songs more on this EP. I also think the message of this song is cute, missing a partner who is away for the holidays. It’s overall a really nice song, but mostly for the vibes of the song!

This song is absolutely beautiful. The instrumental alone makes me already feel just the crushing nature of what the song represents, finding out that the one you love loves someone else more. The lyrics of this song are written beautifully. One lyric that really sticks out to me is: “The snow’s gonna fall and the tree’s gonna glisten/and I’m gonna puke at the thought of you kissin’.”

This song is vibes ALL AROUND. From the first listen, this song always makes me want to bust a move! The lyrics are fun, the instrumental is funky, and the song all around is just so enjoyable. This song is one I continue to go back to, just to bust a little move, nod my head, and just vibe.

I’m going to be completely frank. This cover is not the best thing I’ve ever heard in my life and is honestly the only skip on the album. I’ve tried to sit through it multiple times; however, I’ve only been able to fully get through it one time, that being the time I listened so I could review this album. I just personally think the intro throws me off in terms of the rest of the song, and I don’t think it does anything astronomical that could top the original song.
