EHHS freshman Kayden Staron has been playing football since he was 3 years old. This is Kayden’s first year playing for EHVF and he starts as a linebacker. Kayden expressed how Coach Aceto inspired him to start playing. His job on the field is getting most of the players on defense lined up correctly, as well as stopping the run AND the pass. Alongside football, Kayden also plays baseball and basketball.
He shared, “It’s my mom that keeps me going, I feel like I owe it to her to be able to [make her proud] after everything she has done for me since she had me at such a young age.”
The feeling of walking out on the field during the first home game and seeing the crowd was the best feeling and the adrenaline motivated him. Although that was a good feeling for Kayden, his favorite game was the first game of the season, against Lyman Hall because it was his first football game of his freshman year and they won.
Kayden’s goal for the rest of his high school career is to go all SCC all four years and hopefully go D1 in football.
He also hopes to start on both sides of the ball and break the record of 5 touchdowns in a game. So far this season, Kayden’s most memorable play was the interception against Jonathan Law.
Teammate and EHHS senior, Dante Rodriguez said, “Kayden is a very driven player, he brings great energy to the field and always keeps a good attitude and uplifts his teammates. He always proves himself on the field, whether it be in games or practice. I have full faith in him.”
