Gianna Mendez: “33 career goals and 34 career assists.

Soccer is my passion. I play for many reasons but the main one really being just because I love it so much.

I think what makes me an overall team player is being able to take control on and off the field in an encouraging and respectable way to try and help my teammates become the best players they can be.”

Coach Hackett: “Senior Captain Gianna Mendez.

Gianna has scored 10 goals this season and has 9 assists. G works hard with every aspect whether it be practice or a game. She is a great leader who leads for the front and sets a great example for the other girls to follow. Talent wise, G is a special player with an outstanding ability on the ball as well as a great passing ability.”

Jason Toth: “Current stats this season: 15 tackles (uncertain of actual amount), 1 blocked Field goal.
Team record: 2-4
I believe what makes me a team player is no matter what happens throughout the game, I’m always giving it my all, supporting my teammates throughout the whole game, and never giving up even at times when things don’t go our way. I’m always there to back my teammates up and help support them if they are lost and confused through practices, games and even with school.

Why I enjoy playing football is not just because it’s fun, but because of the bond it created between me and those on the team that will always be remembered by all of us.”
Coach Benoit:
“Jason is one of the hardest working players I have coached at East Haven. He is a great leader, outstanding student, and citizen. He has a very bright future ahead of him.”
