Over the past 3 years, The Summer I Turned Pretty has been a hit TV show all over the world. Written by Jenny Han, the show launched its new season on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Primarily watched on Prime Video streaming service, the show had over 25 million viewers one week after the release of the third and final season. That was a 40% increase from season two. What really made this season a hit were the cliff-hangers at the end of every episode, and the Team Jeremiah vs Team Conrad rivalries amongst fans.
The Summer I Turned Pretty starts off following Belly Conklin during one teenage summer. After transforming into a young woman, she finds herself in a love triangle with two brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. Their mothers are also best friends who have spent every summer together at Cousins Beach. As the show releases season 1 and 2, they gain more viewers due to the jaw-dropping events shown on the episodes, but recently the newly released season has been a hit to viewers with the cliff hanging episodes and only releasing one episode every Wednesday.
This season revolves mainly around Belly’s love life, which still includes the love triangle with Conrad and Jeremiah. This is primarily what makes this season so popular and entertaining to its intended audience.

Although Belly already had her turn with Conrad as her first love, she can’t seem to completely get away from him during her long-term relationship with Jere. At the last second, right before Belly is supposed to marry Jeremiah, she cannot go through with the wedding. She calls off the wedding and the happy ending between her and Conrad thrilled many fans after Conrad follows Belly to Paris and finally wins her back. EHHS Junior Hailey Hainsworth said, “This season was very sad, but since Belly chose Conrad it ended up fine.” Many students also feel the same way, including sophomore Micheala Gatavaski who is “so happy it ended up being Conrad.”
Overall, the Conrad fans were amazed at the finale, while the Jeremiah fans were found upset and livid at the ending they encountered. On the other hand, Mr. Neil Merola thinks, “Belly needs to focus on herself and stop focusing on these boys.” If you are interested in romance and drama tv, this show is highly recommended.
