EHPS held a district-wide art show May 28th at East Haven High to display student artwork from grades K-12.
The art show is when all the art teachers from the district come to help put up most students’ artwork in the gym. There are about 8 schools involved from the district including EHHS. Some students involved in art classes get to decide which art of theirs they want to be displayed at the show, most of the time the teachers make the decision on which piece of art is displayed
This is about the 10th year we’ve had an art show at EHHS. Every year the art show is a little different to see what we can do better each time. Last year we had the art work displayed around the lobby, this year we had it in the gym. The art teachers here prepare for the show months ahead, around October is when they start planning for the art show and collecting arts they want displayed.
Their goal was to bring the East Haven community together to celebrate student achievement in art. They wanted to present student art for other students and families to see and discuss.
EHHS Art teacher Mr. Matthew Stevens shared that these few students did a great job in their art class and had amazing artworks, Leidy Aldana- grade 10, Marissa Urbano, 9th grade, and Jyan Rhobes, 10th grade.
The district art show has been a beloved event for many years and we look forward to seeing our students’ art skills grow each time.
