Pixel Perspective: Roblox

I can’t stand Roblox, and there are many reasons why.

Firstly, let me admit that the game has a good side. I appreciate how Roblox allows people to make games and let them shine. It allows people to be creative and learn how to make games.

Now to the things I don’t like.

  • I don’t like the Roblox community- Yes, it’s diverse, but it’s mostly kids combined with some teenagers. The younger kids who play the game and are obsessed with it can be kind of annoying.
  •  Roblox is taking away from actual games for the same reason I like it. Because it allows people to be creative and make a lot of small games, it takes away opportunities from indie game developers who make actual games on their own and put time and effort into releasing a full game.
  • The nostalgia factor- When I was younger, I played other games like Minecraft, so it feels wrong to have a new young generation growing up playing a different game.

It’s understandable why many people find the game fun and interesting, but I would rather play a fully made game from a publisher. Learning to make games on Roblox is a good start, but I think it’s important to motivate people to work on their games and learn those skills outside of Roblox publication.

Due to my obvious bias, it wouldn’t be fair to rate this game. I understand people can enjoy it. However, in my opinion, I can’t stand to play it.
