With the season of Spring starting on March 20th, the weather continues to get warmer, and the days seem to get longer. As someone who makes playlists for every occasion, here are some songs I’d recommend you add to a Spring playlist!

“Sexy to Someone” by Clairo

Genre: Soft Rock/Indie Pop

Sexy by Someone has a dreamy, breezy vibe that perfectly fits in any spring playlist. The soft, jazzy instrumentals and Clairo’s light, airy vocals give it a refreshing and relaxing feel, like the warm spring breeze or a sunny day after all of the chilly weather. Lyrically, the song also explores themes of self-discovery that feel very playful, like the coming season of blooming flowers and warmer weather. The song’s laid-back but groovy feel makes it great for driving with the windows down, walking in the sun, or just being outdoors.

“Glue Song” by Beabadoobee

Genre: Chamber pop

Glue Song would be another amazing addition, as the song radiates the warmth and sweetness of love, as well as new beginnings. The gentle instrumental combined with Beabadoobee’s vocals creates a cozy, yet uplifting feel. The song, about deep, effortless love, also pairs perfectly with the romantic and radiant energy of spring. It’s the kind of song you can lie in a field of flowers while listening to, daydreaming under the clouds.

“She Won’t Go Away” by Faye Webster

Genre: Alternative/Indie

She Won’t Go Away has a mellow, yet nostalgic feel, which captures the in-between feeling of spring—where everything is warming up, but the colder seasons still linger in the air. The mixture of the instrumental, as well as the vocal, also gives the song an almost hazy quality, perfect for a slow spring afternoon or a peaceful walk. Lyrically as well as musically, the song also feels like watching the world shift around you, making it perfect to represent the changing season.

“Glow” by Alice Phoebe Lou

Genre: Alternative/Indie-pop

Glow captures the soft and quiet magic of spring through its vocals and instrumentals. The dreamy, ethereal feel, as well as the soulful yet delicate vocals, creates a feeling like the sun filtering through the trees or the warming of the weather. Lyrically, the song explores intimacy and tenderness, relating to the sense of renewal and blossoming that comes with the spring season. This song feels like a picnic date under a large tree, with the air just warm enough and the breeze of the past winter.

“Naked in Manhattan” by Chappell Roan

Genre: Synth-pop/Dance-Pop

Naked in Manhattan is a song that’s bursting with energy and excitement, representing the ending of spring as the transition to the fun summer months approaches. This song lyrically and musically sounds like the end of spring, capturing the feeling of being impulsive and adventurous, much like the spring nights spent out with friends. Its melody and chorus make it feel like the soundtrack to stepping into something fresh and fun with a world of possibilities.
