Last week was a busy one for East Haven High School athletics, with the Yellowjackets competing in boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, and football.
Boys Soccer:
The Yellowjackets boys soccer team faced the Hamden Dragons on Tuesday, September 9th, with the final score being Dragons 6, Yellowjackets 0. Despite the score, the Yellowjackets displayed teamwork and perseverance throughout the match as they continue to improve each game.
Girls Soccer:
The Yellowjackets girls soccer team played the Cheshire Rams on Tuesday, September 9th, falling 8-0 to the Rams. The players worked hard on both ends of the field and continue to show progress as the season moves forward.
Volleyball:
The Yellowjackets volleyball team hit the court against the Lyman Hall Trojans on Friday, September 12th, beating the Trojans 3-2 in five sets with a great comeback. The girls displayed grit and determination and worked hard until the final point to come out with the win.
Football:
On Friday, September 12th, the Yellowjackets football team fell short to the North Haven Nighthawks with the final score being 45-6. Despite the loss, the team competed with energy under the lights and kept the crowd engaged throughout the night.
All four teams will be back in action this week, with boys soccer set to face the Career-Hillhouse Panthers on Tuesday, September 16th, girls soccer scheduled against the Branford Hornets on Thursday, September 19th, volleyball playing the Daniel Hand Tigers on Monday, September 15th, and football facing the Foran Lions on Friday, September 19th. Students and fans are highly encouraged to come out and support our Yellowjackets.
