Despicable Me 4
Gru, Margo, Edith, Agnes, and the fan-favorite Minions are back on the big screen in Despicable Me 4 with Lucy and the family’s newest addition, Gru Jr. The series’ latest installment brings us to Gru’s high school reunion, where trouble ensues after Gru connects with his childhood nemesis, Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell), who is also on the most wanted list of Anti-Villian League (AVL). Gru is an AVL secret agent, ironically after attending an all-villain school as a child. As Maxime declares revenge against Gru for sending him to prison, she escapes with the help of his girlfriend, Valentina (Sofia Vergara). Gru and his family go on a wild ride of relocating under witness protection, having their identities revealed, their location compromised, and Gru Jr. kidnapped.
Universal Pictures and Illumination do a good job of bringing drama, humor, and action to the big screen, and the movie was recently released to streaming platforms. DM4 gives us

a glimpse of how Gru truly loves and values his family and is determined to bond with his son, who is a mama’s boy through and through.
If you have been watching since the original Despicable Me made its debut in 2010, you will find the creators keep consistent themes of Gru’s good intentions usually backfiring and the Minions being the always loyal sidekicks in every sense of the word, even on diaper duty! The Despicable Me series has kept solid momentum, keeping the attention of viewers of all ages, with humor for adults, silly minions for kids (who most of us know and love), and an interesting villain or two to keep things exciting. If you find yourself scrolling through Netflix, it’s definitely worth the watch.
I rate this movie 4/5 ★
